Hi, I’m Sarah Keller.
And this is Cooper. She’s 12, Golden Retriever, and the reason this company exists.
3 years ago, I found a lump on her side. Squishy. Soft. Moved under the skin. My vet said “just monitor it.” I did what every dog parent does — I spiraled. Googled at 1am. Tried castor oil, turmeric, diet changes. Nothing worked.
Then I found the research that changed everything: lipomas aren’t a surface problem. They start inside — with a weakened immune system and a gut that can’t support it. I went looking for a product that addressed both. It didn’t exist.
So I decided to build one.
That decision nearly broke me.
It took 11 formulation attempts before we got the beta-glucan concentration right. Three different probiotic labs before we found strains that were actually studied in dogs, not just borrowed from human formulas. Months of back-and-forth with veterinary nutritionists who kept pushing me to cut corners on dosing. I wouldn’t.
I tested every version on Cooper first. If I wouldn’t give it to her, I wasn’t putting it in a bag with my name on it.
The whole process took 14 months and cost more than I want to admit. My husband thought I was crazy. “You’re making a supplement for dogs with lumps?”
Yeah. I am. Because I stood in a vet parking lot with no plan and no one to help, and I don’t want any other dog parent to feel that way.
NourHound isn’t a miracle cure. I’ll never claim that. It’s the daily plan I wanted when my vet said “just monitor it” — and it took everything I had to make it real.
